BELARUS T250, T400 & T500 CHARGING CIRCUIT:
This charging system has a basic alternator, regulator, ampmeter and 12-volt battery circuit. The alternator has five stud and nut connections. Two connections on one terminal block generates alternating current for the starter safety relay. The three connections on the other terminal block generate 12-volt direct current for the battery. The three connections are marked (M) for ground, (B) for battery and (W) for field windings. The regulator has corresponding symbols on its connections. There are three wire leads running between the alternator and regulator. One wire runs from the regulator connection marked (B) to the ampmeter (A-). There are two stud nut connections on the amp meter. One connection is marked (A-), and the other is (A+). Wire lead from connection (A+) to the connection on the key switch marked (K) and from there runs to the starter solenoid marked (SS). The cable to the battery from (SS) is the main positive connection to the 12-volt source. There are two 6-volt batteries connected in a series through a manual grounding switch which makes up a 12-volt system.

Belarus 420 Does Not Charge Battery
« Reply #1 on: October 07, 2016, 08:29:14 PM »
We have a 420 and decided to fix up a few things. When we purchased the 420, it did not charge the battery. It started ok, so we just ran it like that. A few weeks ago, we had the alternator rebuilt and purchased a new voltage regulator, but still no charging. So now I am trying to troubleshoot the charging system but I am having difficulty with the symbols on the alternator.  The symbols are: м, в, Ш and the fourth is three ~ on top of each other. There are two sizes of terminal but only one is larger...в.

Does anyone have an idea what these mean? Thank you!!
