To be able to hear the filter, the engine must be very hot

I always try to listen for the oil centrifuge spin down after engine shutdown.

This is what I would do first verify oil pressure gauge with another gauge. The spinner oil filter will spin when engine is shut down should be able to hear this. That tells me you have oil pressure if the spinner is turning. Make sure you have the correct dip stick and correct oil capacity in the oil pan.

Hello again,  I was able to free up the fan blades and smoothed out the corrosion pits. Almost ready for the reinstall of the fan housing. Any ideas at all on the oil pressure issue would be greatly appreciated. I was also wondering if when the engine is shut down can you hear the oil filter spinning to a stop if your close to it. Take care, Papa

Belarus 250as oil pressure issue

Hello, just "rescued" a Belarus 250as, original bill of sale is dated c1994 (must of sat in a crate) I am 3rd owner. Has sat in a field for last 6yrs! (I know poor ole girl) Fan is seized from huge chipmunk nest. I removed fan unit and is soaking in a mixture of Kroil oil and diesel. I drained and flushed fuel tank, oil pan and cleaned oil filter. Engine starts right up but it seems there is a lack of oil flow through engine, but gage is reading 50psi. When I remove engine oil pan dip stick the oil seems undisturbed like it wasn't started. A bad pump or blocked journal? PS the Russian "Hobbs" meter reads 187hrs
