Belarus products started trickling into Canada in the early 70s and the USA soon after.

Yeah I thought it was a 250 at first, but the manual doesn't quite match.
The closest match I found so far is a T25A, which I think is basically the same machine but built for the Ukraine. 
I found a tag on it that says its a 1974, so it is newer than the 1958 I thought it was.
It runs great, but needs some TLC.  Going to pick up a pressure washer this weekend, get it sparking clean and then start to get to work.  I will be swapping out all fluids and filters, starting with the engine hopefully today.  I need to fix the alternator bracket, and possible swap the belt if I can find one that fits.  The brake pedals don't move, so I don't know if they work... I will go through the manual's adjustment procedure and hope for the best.  I still need to learn the gear box, none of the manuals I have found match what the shifters are doing... so, we'll see.  Battery was down to 3 volts, had it load tested and it passed so I have it on manual charge for the weekend (1000 CCA commercial grade battery).

Sure looks like you got a 250as little air cooled motor?? They were built in Eastern Europe and were brought over and marketed under the Belarus name from the late 70's to late 80's or longer I think.  How's it working?  You can get parts for those from MTZ in Canada/USA  or several online stores in the USA>  GEt yourself an owners manual.  MTZ may have some online on their website or several places have them you can buy too.

Hello Everyone,


I have been looking for a tractor since last fall, something I could use on my 7.5 acre lot of deforested land in upper New York state.
There are many big rocks and logs, debris from the deforestation that I would like to clean up.  I am only there a few weekends per year so I was looking for a budget friendly option, and this tractor can to me and I took a chance and bought it.


It was being advertised as a 1958 Belarus.  It "might" be a 250 but I am really not sure.  What indications would there be to know what model it is?  There are two shift levers for the transmission and I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out which does what.  Any assistance would be much appreciated.


One tag on it shows 31 HP SAE if that helps any, with a picture below.
