Did u get the injectors out and have them tested. U dont have to take ur rockers off if u have a modified wrench that fits the removal nut.

I think you are right. There are some serious issues in your 420 which was the main problem behind its low power output. I think you should get your desired manual from Repair Loader. I have heard that they have a good reputation when it comes to manuals.

420 injector nozzle removal
« Reply #1 on: April 11, 2018, 05:07:45 PM »

I have a 420 that is hard starting and runs poorly. It will only run about half speed and blows a little white smoke out the stack. I bought it that way so I do not know the history, except that the previous owner put in a clutch and after reassembly it wouldn't run well. It seems that the forward two cylinders are not firing(has fuel pressure at injector) and I want to pull the injectors and check the nozzles for sticking, clogged or damaged. My question is... how to remove the injectors???  It looks like the rockers must be removed to unscrew the injectors.  Manuals I have aren't any help. From what I can tell the 250 would be the same.
Thanks, Roger, Pittsburgh, PA.
